History
For over a century, Casper Country Club has been part of the story of our community. A place where traditions began, memories were made, and generations have gathered to call it their home away from home.
Our Story
Casper Country Club traces its roots to 1918 and was formally established in 1921, when a group of determined citizens set out to create a clubhouse, golf course, and gathering place for the growing Casper community. In 1924, that vision came to life in a remarkable single season, transforming open prairie into a place for sport, celebration, and connection.
From early tournaments and social dances to junior programs and community events, the Club quickly became part of the rhythm of life in Casper. Through changing decades, the club has remained rooted in the same spirit of being a place where people come together to play, celebrate, and build lasting traditions.

Highlights Through the Years
- Organized in 1918 and incorporated in 1921, the Club’s course and clubhouse were built in 1924: completed in a single season by determined members.
- Early golfers didn’t putt on grass greens. Instead, the surfaces were oiled and sanded, and players smoothed their own path to the hole before putting.
- The original course was designed from plans by renowned architect Tom Bendelow, with the vision of eventually expanding to 18 holes.
- From its earliest days, the Club was as social as it was sporting: hosting tournaments, dinner dances, bridge afternoons, and gatherings that drew the community together.
- One devoted early member, Alfred Mokler, documented nearly every round he played, along with rattlesnake sightings, golf disputes, and daily club life, proving the Club has always been full of stories.
